Becky Lloyd is the director of the Audubon Yoga Studio and is an Intermediate Junior III certified Iyengar yoga instructor. She is also a Certified Yoga Therapist through IAYT (International Association of Yoga Therapists).
Becky is a dedicated Iyengar yoga practitioner. For over 20 years she has been deepening her yoga practice by studying with the Iyengar family at their Institute in Pune, India, as well with Senior Iyengar teachers Rebecca and Dean Lerner, Randy Just and Patricia Walden. Karin O'Bannon was her mentor for six years. Becky has mentored several students who have become certified Iyengar teachers.
Becky playfully balances the precise nature of Iyengar yoga with the wisdom offered in the yoga sutras. She received a BA in music and considers the sequencing of asanas for each class much like a composition in which the body and mind are taken through stages of movement and stability with the goal of connecting with our Divine nature. She calls this approach ‘Divine Play’ and it has continued to be the focus at Audubon Yoga Studio, which she opened in 2000. She is passionate about providing a safe and accessible space for everyone at any stage in their life, regardless of ability or previous experience.
Becky finds joy and inspiration in nature while traveling, camping, and bird watching. New Orleans has been her home since 1987. She lives with her fiancé, her Catahoula and two cats.
Casey Love began her study of Iyengar yoga in 2000. She assisted at the studio early on and began teaching in 2002. She is a dedicated practitioner and easily shares her enthusiasm for Iyengar yoga with her students. When she's not teaching yoga, she is a professor of political science and the director of the Altman Program in International Studies and Business at Tulane University. She has two sons and is a founding member of the fabulous Camel Toe Lady Steppers. Casey received her Junior Intermediate I Iyengar yoga teacher certification in 2013.
