Level I
For beginning students. You will be introduced to the fundementals of Iyengar yoga, with emphasis being given to standing poses, basic seated poses and twists. Toward the end of the session, we will begin working on Sarvangasana (shoulder balance).

Level I/II
For students who have completed at least one Level I course but would benefit from a refresher course before moving into Level II. We will continue working on Sarvangasana and refining the poses introduced in Level I.

Level II
For students who have completed at least six months of beginning Iyengar classes and have a good understanding of the material presented in Level I. We will explore more subtle aspects of the poses introduced in previous levels and begin new inversions such as Sirsasana (head balance).

Level II/III-III
For students who have completed at least two Level II courses. Students should be strong in standing poses and have a regular home practice of head balance, shoulder stand and plow and be able to kick up into full arm balance without assistance.

Restorative/Gentle
Ideal for people recovering from an injury or for those who would benefit and/or prefer a slower paced class. Iyengar yoga is a wonderful and safe practice to help regain strength and increase range of motion.

Prenatal Class
Yoga is one of the most beneficial practices a woman can participate in to prepare for labor and birth. The asanas (poses) are specifically catered to the needs of women, depending upon the tri-mester and the strengths and weaknesses of each woman. If you are pregnant, a prenatal class is a nurturing environment in which you can meet and share your experinces with other mothers-to-be!

Kids Classes
This 8 week course will take children through a variety of yoga asanas (poses) that depict shapes, aspects of nature, animals, warriors, etc. Stories will be part of the learning experience of the practice of yoga.

The kids class is canceled due to lack of attendees.
We will try again in the summer!

Meditation Class
This gathering is open to anyone – beginners and experienced practitioners. We begin each session sitting quietly for 15 minutes, followed by a walking meditation, and then another 15 minutes of either silence or guided meditation.

We have been reading excerpts from Creating True Peace: Ending Violence in Yourself, Your Family, Your Community, and the World by Thich Nhat Hanh. We end each class with several minutes of sharing thoughts or ideas that relate to our practice. Suggested donation of $3-5.
